SIMONE TRAMONTE – NET ZERO TRANSITION

KUNSTHAUS WIESBADEN

The EU has set a target to reduce emissions by at least 55 percent by 2030 and to reduce them to zero by 2050. Renewable energy, new technologies for food and the circular economy are important solutions to achieve the goals of the Green Deal.

The Italian photographer Simone Tramonte accompanies this development with his project “Net-Zero Transition” and photographs, for example, sustainable projects in Iceland such as a photobioreactor with microalgae. His series shows the technoid new world of agriculture and energy in sometimes spectacular images and bright colors. The net-zero transformation has begun and, Simone Tramonte is certain, will be the next industrial revolution.

Simone Tramonte. Italian photographer focused on documenting contemporary social and environmental issues. The series was awarded the Sony World Photography Awards 2021, the Environmental Photographer of the Year 2021 and PoYi — Pictures of the Year International 2022 and was exhibited at COP26 in Glasgow. His work is regularly published in international magazines such as National Geographic, GEO, The Guardian, Der Spiegel and Wired.
